Your Treatment Journey

Step 1

After your initial consultation, you’ll attend an examination to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy and ready for your treatment.

Step 2

The dentist will take impressions of your teeth and gums for your aligner trays to be produced at the Reveal labs. This also allows your dentist to map out what your smile will look like at the end to make sure you’re in love with the results.

Step 3

Once your trays are delivered to the practice, your dentist will show you how to use and care for them as well as answer any questions you may have.

Digitally scanning your mouth using the latest technology creates a 3D view of your current smile and teeth alignment.

Then we can review this image together to design your new smile, by repositioning certain teeth to suit your facial structure, reducing gaps and achieving a symmetrical, seamless smile.

Once you are 100% happy with your future smile, your trays will be created at the Reveal state-of-the-art laboratories using the latest 3D printing technology. These will be shipped back to Astley Dental Centre ready for your fitting session.

At this session, we will guide you through the whole process, from the initial fitting through to the aftercare.

How do clear aligners work?

Each of the trays is created specifically for each stage of teeth repositioning, from week 1 to the final result.

Your teeth adjust to fit into the first moulded tray before you move on to the next. These gentle movements add up over time until you take off your final retainer to reveal your spectacular smile.

How long does clear aligners treatment take?

Clear aligners can take between 4 to 12 months to straighten your teeth depending on the size of the gaps or the angle of the teeth.

The average time is around 6 months to see the completed results but noticeable results become very apparent throughout the process

Do clear aligners hurt?

Clear aligners don’t hurt but you may experience some discomfort whilst your teeth adjust to your new aligner. The discomfort typically lasts 24 hours.

Will the aligner affect my speech?

Reveal aligners are designed so they don’t get in your way – any speech changes are likely to be minor and if a patient experiences this, they quickly adjust to speaking normally whilst wearing them.

What happens when I finish my treatment?

Upon completion, you’ll be provided with an overnight retainer to wear whilst you sleep to keep your teeth in their final position.
